The Office of the Executive Officer

The General Assembly

​The Office of the Executive Officer of the General Assembly is a General Assembly electable office that serves as the executive liaison between the Office of the Recorder,  the Office of the Registrar, the Standing Commissions, and the Board of Archives in their delivery of Reports, Journals, and Vacancy Appointments to the General Assembly and the Executive Committee of the General Assembly.

The Office of the Executive Officer is customarily occupied by either a Reverend, Deacon, or Lay Communicant and is elected during the election period of the regular meeting of the General Assembly. Once elected, a transition period is provided after which the Executive Officer is sworn in by either the Chair or Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee on December 31st to assume responsibilities of the Office on January 1st.
