The General Assembly
The General Assembly of the Spiritual Baptist Church of Canada is governed by the Constitution and Canons adopted by the First General Assembly of 1996. Pursuant to the Constitution and Canons there are prescribed methods to elect and appoint the officers, directors, members of Standing Commissions, and other posts necessary to effectuate the orderly governance of the Church.​
The Official List of Electable and Appointable Positions of the General Assembly of the Spiritual Baptist Church of Canada identifies the prescribed methods that may become available during a regular meeting of the General Assembly. For convenience, a Legends Table is provided that explains the Order of Church Membership and Authority applicable to each Electable and Appointable Position.

Electable Director Seats
Up to seven directors seats are available for election at the regular meeting of the General Assembly. Three will have a term of 3-years, and four will have a term of 6-years.
Appointable Membership
to
Standing Commissions and Joint Committees Membership
The Membership on Standing Commissions and Joint Committees are reserved for the Apostolic Overseer to appoint the Bishops and the President of the Congress of Delegates to appoint Reverends, Deacons, and Lay Communicants pursuant to Canon I.3.2 to their individual Canonical Mandate. Persons appointed to serve on Standing Commissions and Joint Committees shall be notified by the Executive Officer of the General Assembly to accept their membership on January 1st following the adjournment of the meeting of the General Assembly.
